Our church is led by a team of elders,
supported by the deacons and the staff team
Elders
James joined Emmanuel in 2017 and is one of our full-time elders. He is particularly responsible for our Sunday ministry, and helps oversee our evangelism and women’s ministries. In his spare time, James enjoys his family, sports, and music. He and his wife, Hannah, have three girls.
Matthew joined Emmanuel in 2018 and serves as a full-time elder alongside James. They share the majority of the preaching ministry at our services. He helps to oversee our home fellowship groups, student ministry and children & youth work. He is married to Naomi and they have three boys. His hobbies include non-time pressured DIY, indoor rowing and watching sports.
Richard joined Emmanuel in 1991 and joined the eldership in 2018. He leads the Men's Ministry team and has a heart for supporting church family life. Richard and his wife Fiona have six children, two dogs, and a cat, and when they get time love to be in the great outdoors, walking and camping.
Tim joined Emmanuel in 1995 when he moved to the area as a graduate. He has responsibility for our church personnel and also organises our annual Church Away Day. Tim works for an international engineering and project management consultancy in the construction sector. He is married to Claire, and they have two daughters and a son.
Andy became an elder in 2012. He is involved in evangelism, relocation and is part of the music group. Andy leads a Home Group and regularly leads Sunday services. He is married to Jan and has three grown up daughters. Andy is a primary school teacher and uses some of his holidays to lead beach teams.
Oliver has attended Emmanuel for over 25 years and oversees the Missions team which supports local, national and international mission partners. Oliver also leads the Warwick Home Fellowship group. Oliver is a local estate agent and married to Helen. They have four children.
Joe has been part of Emmanuel Church since it started in 1985 (when he was very young!) Joe has enjoyed being able to serve in youth ministry and the diaconate over the years and joined the eldership in 2023. He is married to Ali and they have 4 daughters. Joe works in the civil service and if he gets spare time enjoys DIY and being outdoors. Joe looks after our Welcome Team and helps members integrate into church family life.
Andy has been at Emmanuel since moving back to the UK from New Zealand in 2002. He has been involved in many ministries, but is now mainly focused on evangelism, often running evangelistic events, and Men's Ministry. He also heads up the IT team and looks after our Seniors and Relocation.
Deacons
Stuart first attended Emmanuel in 1998, having had connections with his home church in Newcastle. He returned to the church in 2010. He lives in Coventry with his wife Helen and their 3 children.
Gareth has been a deacon since summer 2020 and is links with the media team.
Alastair joined Emmanuel in 2007, along with is wife Jenny and has three children. Alastair works full time as a paramedic in the Cotswolds, and enjoys helping on the family farm. He has responsibility for buildings maintenance.
Tony and his family love being part of Emmanuel church and serving here. Tony enjoys learning, playing sport (injuries permitting) and finds delight in God’s love to him through Jesus Christ.
Ryan moved to Leamington Spa in 2019 and has been at Emmanuel ever since. He and his wife Simònne have been greatly blessed by the Church family, particularly in helping them settle in from abroad.
Staff team
Lucy and her husband Simeon joined Emmanuel in 2018, they have 3 young boys. In 2021, Lucy joined the staff team and looks after Administration, Design and Publicity.
Rachel, in 2022, joined the staff team as our Children and Youth worker. She is married to Ben and a mum to their two boys.
Helen joined Emmanuel in 2010 and is one of our Woman’s Ministry Coordinators. Helen is married to Stuart and they have three children. She enjoys bikes, books and coffee.
Ruth joined Emmanuel in 1999 and is one of our Women's Ministry Coordinators. Ruth is married Dave and they have 3 daughters. She enjoys gardening, problems/puzzles, and being creative.
Care Team
The Care Team is there to show the love of Christ in the practical care of the membership & those associated with the church, especially those under stress in times of illness, bereavement, old age, isolation, unemployment, housing difficulty & other circumstances.
